Apple Dumplings
Ingredients
2/3 cup sugar 1 1/2 cup water 2 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 cup water 1/4 tsp. cinnamon Crust for one 9-inch pie 3 apples, sliced (Winesap or Jonathon) |
Directions
Boil together sugar, water, butter and cinnamon for three minutes. Roll pie crust in square shape. Divide in quarters Peel and slice the apple. Place sliced apples on each of the 4 squares of pastry; Sprinkle about 1 tsp. sugar over apples; dot with butter and squeeze a little lemon juice over it. Fold pie crust over apples and turn upside down in baking dish. pour hot syrup around, not over, dumplings. Bake 40-45 minutes in 425 degree oven. Mary rogers |
